Graduating with Honors

 

Students who graduate with honors must score at at or above ALL of the subject area readiness benchmarks on the ACT or equivalent score on the SAT.

 

  • English: 18

  • Math: 22

  • Reading: 22

  • Science: 23

 

Graduating with Distinction

Students must have a 3.0 GPA and meet one of the following criteria:

  • earn a nationally recognized industry certification

  • participate in Governor's School

  • participate in All State

  • National Merit Semifinalist or Finalist

  • 31 or higher on ACT

  • 3 or higher on 2 AP exams

  • IB Diploma Program completer

  • 12 or more college credit hours

Please note that schedule change requests are handled  CASE- BY- CASE. Not every schedule change request will be honored.  Pathway, class sizes, graduation requirements needed and overall impact on your schedule are all factors taken into consideration. If you are requesting a change because of a conflict with a teacher, a conference must be scheduled FIRST.

 

Schedule Change Requests are designed for the following scenarios:

1. A class is in the schedule that the student has already taken and passed.

2. A student would like to challenge themselves with a more rigorous course (bump up a level) with parental approval.

3. A  12th grade student is missing a requirement that is needed for graduation.
